Description
We tried the famous hot air fryer that manages to perfectly cook foods with no added fats or with at most a spoonful of oil. An extra powerful oven that makes everything crisp and halves the time, in short, truly exceptional, especially if you are in 2 or 3 at home.
We fell in love with it. The simplest models are also found at 50-60 euros, a small expense for a very useful appliance that will save you money (reduced consumption compared to cooking in the oven) and time (everything is faster).
Even heating the bread of the day before will become a simple and perfect operation. In short, we are really in love with it, the potential of this wonder is very many.
As a first experiment we tried a very simple thing: the chips! Not the frozen ones, but fresh potatoes cut into wedges and made to become the typical appetizer of saturday evening, to be served before the pizza. The result amazed us, they didn't stick together, they cooked evenly, they were crispy, light and tasty. Really amazing!!!
Ingredients
- 6 medium potatoes
- A spoonful of extra virgin olive oil
- A spoonful of salt
Preparation
- If you have the desire to eat potatoes with all their peel, wash them very well with a sponge or a soft brush under running water to remove the earth and then put them whole soak in water and baking soda for at least 15 minutes.
- Once cleaned externally, cut into not too thick wedges and leave to soak in fresh water for a long time (even 1 or more hours), in order to drain the starch. Drain and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
- Season the potatoes with a single spoonful of extra virgin olive oil and even out by turning the potatoes in a bowl several times (with your hands or the spoon itself).
- Place the potato wedges in the cooking basket of the air fryer and cook for about 45 minutes at 200°C.
