Description

The puff pastry roll with spinach is an easy and quick recipe, perfect to serve as a vegetarian appetizer or a light main course. Made with just a few ingredients — puff pastry, spinach, stracchino cheese, and hard-boiled eggs — it stands out for its creamy texture and balanced flavors. The golden, crispy pastry encloses a soft and flavorful filling, making it ideal for a last-minute dinner or a buffet.

You can customize this roll by adding other ingredients such as ham, ricotta, or your favorite cheeses. Serve it slightly warm, sliced into thick rounds: it’s guaranteed to be a hit with both adults and kids!

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 stracchino cheese
  • 5 or 6 cubes of frozen spinach
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pepper

Preparation

  1. Cook the spinach in a pan with a little water (follow the instructions on the package).
  2. Unroll the puff pastry, spread the cheese, then evenly distribute the spinach and the chopped eggs. Add some grated Parmesan cheese and pepper.
  3. Roll it up gently and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, until golden brown.
  4. Let it cool slightly and serve in 2–3 cm thick slices.
